OCTH 6113 - Foundations of Occupational Therapy Practice


Credits: 3

Through the integration of a Christian perspective, students will explore how faith and service align with the foundational constructs of the profession of occupational therapy and can be used to enhance therapeutic practices and client interactions. Foundational constructs explored include occupational therapy history, philosophical base, core values, code of ethics, domain component of the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF), and occupation-based models of practice. Structured learning experiences and in-person experiential lab components will facilitate students’ professional development as they transition to professional roles. Includes an in-person experiential lab component.
