OCTH 6243 - Neurological Processes and Occupational Performance Credits: 3
This course investigates concepts of brain function that support meaningful engagement in occupations, emphasizing sensory, perceptual, motor, and cognitive processes. Students will familiarize themselves with the key components of neurological examinations and be introduced to assessment tools and measures frequently used in occupational therapy for those with neurological conditions. The curriculum includes an in-person experiential lab component, providing students with the opportunity to apply their learning and reinforce the importance of empathy and respect in their practice. Thus, preparing students to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve through a lens of Christian love and service.
