OCTH 6342 - Occupation in Wellness and Health Promotion

This course will focus on the relationship between occupation and health and wellness. Students will explore the epidemiological data of various persons, groups, and populations at risk for injury, illness, and/or disability. Models for prevention and health promotion strategies will be reviewed and applied as appropriate for occupational therapy practice with a focus on implementing holistic approaches that nurture both physical and spiritual well-being. The course includes an in-person experiential lab component, providing students with opportunities to apply their learning in ways that reflect Christ’s love and commitment to healing in their communities and the world beyond.
