Credits: 3

This course emphasizes evaluation and intervention for adults with physical impairments and disabilities, utilizing the International Classification of Impairments, Disabilities, and Handicaps (ICIDH) as a framework. Through occupation-based methods, students will develop and implement screenings, evaluations, treatment plans, and intervention approaches. Students will explore the occupational performance of adult clients with physical impairments and disabilities across various occupational therapy domains and throughout the rehabilitation process. By applying clinical reasoning, evidence, and client-centered strategies, students will determine best practices for intervention all while upholding the dignity and worth of each individual as created in the image of God. The course includes an in-person experiential lab component, allowing students to engage with real-life scenarios and apply their learning in supportive environments.
