OCTH 6643 - Technologies in Occupational Therapy Practice Credits: 3
This course will equip students with foundational competencies in technological interventions and assistive technologies. Students will explore various technologies and services designed to enhance activities of daily living, mobility, communication, social interactions, and executive functions, recognizing the importance of fostering independence and dignity in every person as a creation of God. Students will engage in hands-on experiences that include assessment, design, adaptation, modification, and monitoring of assistive technologies, ensuring that their interventions are tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and needs. The in-person experiential lab component will provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, reinforcing the idea that their work is a ministry of service.
