The study of the history and development of non-Western art and music, with emphasis on the evolution, style, and visual analysis of the arts in India, China, Japan, and the indigenous arts of the Americas, Africa, and the South Pacific. Major periods will be examined to develop aesthetic judgment regarding the influence of these styles in the visual arts, as well as parallel trends in music.
