PA 6032 - Applied Professionalism I Credits: 2 Spring
This course is the first in a series of three courses designed to help students understand the PA profession, including history, evidence-based medicine, and the ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines for PA practice. This course provides foundational knowledge of the role and history of PAs, health systems, health care delivery including principles of team-based medicine, coding and billing, insurance, concepts of population and public health including disease surveillance and social determinants of health, and the sociocultural, political, economic, legal, and regulatory influences on healthcare delivery is cultivated within the PA profession.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Physician Associate Studies program.
