SLP 4003 - Anatomy and Physiology of Communication and Swallowing Credits: 3
This course provides a detailed exploration of the anatomical and physiological systems involved in speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. The course will connect foundational concepts of the anatomy and physiology related to speech, hearing and swallowing to their practical implications in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Students will reflect on how God reveals His purpose through the human body and how understanding the science of communication and swallowing equips future clinicians to serve others. Note: Transfer courses must meet ASHA certification standards
