MATH 1123 - Applied Algebra for Business and Health Science Credits: 3
Study of equations and functions-including linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic-through multiple representations: symbolic, numerical, graphical, and verbal. Emphasis is placed on interpreting and analyzing real-world data, using functions to model relationships, and applying mathematical reasoning in context. Digital tools are used to explore graphs, solve equations, and perform regression-based modeling. This course is intended for students in business, nursing, and life or health sciences, and is not designed as preparation for calculus.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MATH 1003 , ACT Math 20+, or SAT Math 520+; OR concurrent enrollment in MATH 1011 .
