Oklahoma Baptist University is helping to fill the teacher shortage with the Alternative Teacher Licensure Certificate Program. The program consists of 18 hours of coursework designed for students who have already earned a bachelors or masters and are approved to pursue an Alternative Teaching Certificate through the Oklahoma State Department of Education. All students that successfully complete the program will receive a certificate diploma from OBU, but will not receive an alternative teaching license from the state of Oklahoma until after they take and pass the required state exams for teacher licensure.
